GEF - Bhutan: Silent Tsunami
In Bhutan, people are racing against time to prevent a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF)--which locals call "silent tsunami." Here, we follow the efforts of engineers and 300 local laborers, with the help of the GEF and UNDP, to prevent a GLOF in the country's Lunana region.
