DSA Virtual Access - Peer Downtowns: Issues and Advancements

Like downtown Seattle, urban areas across the country are grappling with concurrent — and sometimes intertwined — issues that are impacting revitalization. The fentanyl crisis, public safety concerns, and lagging office or retail environments are creating headwinds in our downtowns.
Yet there are positive trends as well with tourism, large events, public-private partnerships and new investment all driving economic activity. This DSA Virtual Access conversation featured perspective from downtown Denver, Philadelphia and San Francisco, and an update on Seattle's Downtown Activation Plan from the Office of Economic Development. Panelists for this conversation are Downtown Denver Partnership President & CEO Kourtny Garrett, Center City District Philadelphia President & CEO Prema Gupta and San Francisco Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Rodney Fong. This series is moderated by KIRO Newsradio produce & host Feliks Banel.
