Why We Remove Wheels for Rust Protection | The Hidden Areas We Protect

In this video, we explain why removing the wheels is an important step in achieving a more comprehensive rust protection treatment.

While some areas of the underside can be protected with the wheels in place, removing them gives us much greater access to areas that are otherwise difficult or impossible to reach - including suspension components, subframes, chassis sections and hidden areas within the wheel arches.

The process allows us to:

• Access areas of the chassis and suspension that are hidden behind the wheels
• Clean and inspect areas that would otherwise be missed
• Apply rust protection more thoroughly to suspension components and subframes
• Protect fixed metal arch liners and inner wheel arch areas where fitted
• Reach areas where dirt, moisture and road salt can accumulate over time

This extra level of preparation and access helps ensure the protection is applied as comprehensively as possible, giving the vehicle the best chance of staying preserved for years to come.

For owners looking to protect a valued vehicle, wheels-off treatment is one of the key steps that takes rust protection from a basic application to a much deeper preservation process.
