NICHD Spotlight Interview with Cathy Spong: Explaining the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Guidelines
Dr. Spong, Associate Director for Extramural Research, oversees the NICHD's extramural research program. In this NICHD spotlight, she discuss the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) guidelines for weight gain during pregnancy. The IOM provides recommendations for women who are underweight, women who have normal weight, women who are overweight, and women who are obese.
