Just one thing I forgot to add, when you use a new training aid for the first time, I would recommend using it VERY loose first because it can take a horse a little while to figure them out so you don't want to put lots of pressure on them straight away ;)
ALSO: if you're using the vienna reins with twine instead of the actual training aid that you buy, make sure that both side have equal pressure, otherwise the horse will have their head turned to the side :)
