The road north led us to one of Africa’s great wildernesses—Etosha National Park. For two days we roamed across a sea of pale salt and golden grass, where the horizon seemed to melt into the sky. The vast Etosha Pan stretched like a dried-up ocean, silent except for the rustle of wind and the distant call of birds. Then came the moments you dream of: a massive herd of zebra moving like a living pattern across the plain… three cheetahs peeking through the tall grass… and, seven elusive rhinos emerging from the dusk.
