Carl D. Bradley Engine Room, August 2009

Video of the engine room of the Carl D. Bradley shipwreck in northern Lake Michigan, USA, taken in August 2009. Maximum depth reached for this video was approximately 355 feet. This was the first ever diver penetration into the Bradley's engine room. By far, this is the most wonderful shipwreck I have ever seen and I was very fortunate to have been able to do this. Tracy Xelowski was my partner on this dive and he deserves a lot of credit for helping make this possible.

This video starts with the steam turbine coupled to the electric generator, then pans to the port side showing more equipment and catwalks. Next is the starboard side with gauges, electrical panels, the engine speed telegraph, a chain-link fence door into the electrical bus area (notice the DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE sign), then the Engineers control room, rows of file cabinets and the engine room skylights.
