Surface area of box max/min
Welcome to the IKEA problem! In this video, we find the smallest surface area of a box whose volume is 1000 cubic centimeters. This is a beautiful illustration of a max/min problem in multivariable calculus, which we here solve using the classical second derivative test. In a related video, I will show you the Lagrange multiplier way of solving this.
