Xiaomi Yi Filter Adapter - Review

I wanted to use different filters on my Xiaomi Yi camera and was looking for an adapter to mount them. I got 2 different models: a 37mm and a 52mm adapter. The 37mm adapter came with an UV filter, the 52mm adapter with an ND filter.

With the 37mm filter you can see very strong vignetting in video mode, as well as in photo mode. You have to turn on lens rectification in the app settings to avoid this problem and assure no vignetting.

So I got a 52mm and thought this one might be better for the Xiaomi Yi's wide angle. You don’t see any vignetting in video mode (16:9). In photo mode you still have some dark spots in the corner of your picture. This might be solved with an available slim filter, but I didn't have one with me to test.

I think this adapter is the best solution for the Xiaomi Yi camera you can get.
