Everybody, how's it going, everybody, it's Gavin here. And as you can see, I have uTorrent pulled up on my screen here, which is a free to download torrenting service that allows you to get any kind of content you're looking for, whether it be audio, video books, even web stuff you can download. So any kind of content you're really looking for, you can download provided there's a torrent for it. And some of you out there might be thinking like torrent is that, is that legal? Is that something that's legal to do? And yes, it is. It's a completely legal service. The definition of torrenting is a database of links, which connects to a network of hosts that owns a copy of a piece of content. And what that is saying basically, is that if someone owns the license to a piece of content, whether it be a movie, video, anything like that, if they own a license to it, they can then put it online as a torrent and allow people and share it with people who might want to use that piece of content or why
That piece of content. And that's why it's really great for like movies and things if you want to download a movie, which is what we're going to be going over today. But before we get too much further in that I want to draw your attention to the right side of my screen here towards this VPN, express VPN. So continuing on, once you've downloaded uTorrent, once you have it installed on your computer, the next step is to go to your browser and come to one of these sites, one of these open source torrenting sites, I go to archive.org just because they have a lot of resources, web book, video, audio software, all this good stuff. And you want to come to videos, there'll be a little tab for movies, and then you can get any kind of movie you want. I chose Charlie Chaplin festival because it's a classic. But once you've done that, go to the download options, hit torrent, and it will automatically start to download.
Now once it's opened in your torrent in uTorrent, you'll see where you know all of the specifications for where it should go on your computer and whatnot. Just hit OK on that. And then it will automatically start to check the file to make sure it's the actual file and it's working and whatnot. But I'm going to stop that just because I don't want this movie.
But the normal process would check the file and then it would start to download. And this one's 3.76. So you just have to wait for however long it is for that big file to download. But that's the main idea right there is you go online, you find the torrent for the piece of content you want, you bring it to this uTorrent or whatever other torrenting service you might want. And then it'll start to download. It's a really convenient tool for anyone looking to share their content, share a movie, share a video, it's a really great tool for that.
