Union Pacific locomotive 8655 leads a westbound freight through the final curve at Shawmut on Arizona’s Sunset Route shortly after sunrise. Captured in VR180 using Canon dual-fisheye optics, this clip is part of an ongoing experiment in immersive railfan storytelling—exploring camera placement, viewer perspective, spatial audio, and how ultra-wide stereoscopic imagery changes the way we experience trains in motion.

This run also highlighted some of the practical challenges of VR180 production: foreground distractions, utility poles within the field of view, shadow management, and directing viewer attention when the audience can freely look around the scene.
