Debating free speech: Should the "Old South African flag" be banned?

This will be a histori court case.

I was invited to debate Sello Hatang, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Foundation (NMF), regarding the NMF's push to have what they describe as the "gratuitous display" of the 1928 flag declared hate speech and banned.

We argue that it would be a violation of freedom of speech and that state intervention by law in this regard wouldn't change people's views and would probably have a backfire-effect.
