How to focus stack your landscape photos (with downloadable examples to try out)
This week I’ll show you how I focus stack my landscape shots, so when the hyperlocal distance doesn’t quite cut it, try this. You will need Lightroom and photoshop to stack your images, so if you don’t have it, click on the link below for a 30 day free trial: https://www.adobe.com/nz/creativecloud/start-with-free-creativecloud.html

Thanks to my good friend Ry Palis for helping me with the B-roll in this one! 👍
If you photograph landscapes, you’ll know that sometimes when your foreground in your image is too close, it goes beyond the limitations of your camera and you cannot get everything in focus. This is when you need to focus stack your images. This is a process of blending the images you have photographed so that the whole image is in focus from front to back.
I never really like the automated focus stacking process in photoshop, so this is how I do it!
When I shoot with the Sony 16-35mm and the a7iii, I always use this technique when I have the foreground less than a meter away from the lens. It means that I will get everything in focus throughout the shot.
