Russian Minimal Pairs - Hard and Soft Consonants (Russian Soft Sign)

This video is all about Russian minimal pairs. We´ll be learning to distinguish hard and soft consonants by ear. And by soft in this case, I mean consonants with the soft sign after them. Russian soft sign doesn’t have a sound of its own but it changes how the preceding consonant sounds. And this change may completely change the meaning of the word. It´s crucial that you learn to hear the difference between the Russian hard and soft consonants (formed by adding a soft sign after it) in order to understand Russian speakers.
