How Comics like Invincible and Marvel's Alpha Flight use Repeat Panels Perfectly

Comic book publishers have a lot of differences, but they’re all propped up by writers, artists and administrators spending countless hours to create new issues. In order to make sure everything is finished on time, comic creators end up developing creative shortcuts to help them get through comics faster: the most recognizable being the use of repeat, identical panels in a single issue. Open any comic book and odds are you will find duplicate panels, but this video dissects two specific examples of the practice. One is found in John Byrne’s Alpha Flight issue six, aptly titled Snowblind, and the other comes in Invincible issue 10 from Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley. Check out this video for a look at creative opportunity costs and how they apply to comic books!
