Amazing Monasterboice! #ireland Ireland #irish #highcross

The Monastic site of Monasterbocie dates back to the 6th Century when it was founded by St Buite. Nothing remains of the original monastery but there are remains of two 10th century churches. What you see is the West High Cross, 7meters high and the tallest in Ireland. The round tower is about 100ft/30m high.
One of my favorite destinations in the country!
