President Trump's critics are 'distracting from Obamagate'

Sky News host Chris Kenny says some in the US media and the Democrats alike “are seizing on the pandemic and anything else they can” to attack President Trump and distract from "Obamagate" leading up to the 2020 election.

Mr Kenny spoke of the conclusion of former US president Barack Obama’s administration and the fact “they set up the Russia probe that gave rise to the Mueller Inquiry and the whole Russiagate scandal that was used to undermine, distract and potentially impeach the President”.

“If the world wasn't consumed by this pandemic there is a fair chance a lot of us would be talking a lot more about Obamagate at the moment,” Mr Kenny said.

“The Democrats and the US media, not to mention the Hollywood talk show hosts and half of the western world were fully on board with this conspiracy theory.

“They portrayed Donald Trump as an accomplice, a pawn, even an agent of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.”

Mr Kenny said Democrats and US media are now targeting the President’s use of hydroxychloroquine as a preventative measure against coronavirus, despite it being unproven as an effective COVID-19 treatment.

Mr Trump said the White House doctor cleared his use of the drug which he has been taking for the last week and a half in pill form and has had "zero symptoms”.

Mr Trump backed the drug as a potential coronavirus cure, despite warnings from top medical professionals in his administration.
