Amazing St. Petersburg Fontanka SUP Festival 2021

Fontanka SUP Festival, with estimated 3,000 stand up paddle-boarders in costume in St. Petersburg, Russia. Navigating Fontanka River and Griboedova Canal in a special event on July 31, 2021. Despite a strong head wind and cloudy skies and a couple of rain squalls, participants made a dash for the first finish line on the Fontanka River. Then continued to return on the Canal Grioedova ending past the Church on Spilled Blood on the Moika River Embankment. Contests held for first across the finish line and best costumes. Prizes collected by paddlers hung from fishing lines. SUP Fiesta in it's 6th year with participants from over 80 cities. Known as the Venice of the North, St. Petersburg rivers and canals are perfect for paddling.
