Hoof Mapping: Where Do We Go From Here?
Hoof mapping is a process of using external references to locate internal horse hoof structures. This is important so that farriers and barefoot trimmers can make better choices on what and where to trim the foot to better balance the hoof capsule around the coffin bone. In this 2016 presentation by professional farrier Steve Foxworth at the International Hoof Care Summit, Steve helps to explain why it is important and how to simplify this process.
