How To Re-Lume Watch Hands
In this video I demonstrate how I re-lume my watch hands for all my restorations. It is a relatively straightforward procedure which you can do with the naked eye if your eyesight is better than mine!
You don't need much equipment to do this, just some patience. It can be as inexpensive as you like. The professionals will use watch grade materials and are able to colour match however if you just want to try you really don't need to spend allot of money .
Tweezers, lume powder, binder, something to apply the lume and ideally some magnification.
The key to success is to make the mix the right consistency, not too runny and not too thick. Its only when carrying out the work do you figure out the best mix for the hands. Bigger / wider the gap to lume the more important that mix needs to be for it to gather on each side and to cover the gap.
Below is a link to the powder I have used.
