Laurel Canyon has always been an enclave for artists, musicians and actors. It is only about a mile from the Sunset Strip, yet wonderfully secluded in a beautiful rustic canyon. In the 1960's it was one of the centers of the rock music scene. Many notable and talented artists lived in Laurel Canyon. (Neil Young, The Doors etc...)
In the 1940's, actor Robert Mitchum got busted for pot on Ridpath Drive. It has always had an alternative, non-conformist and artistic vibe...I have spent a lot of wonderful time there... Ridpath Reefer Blues is on my Bliss Misplaced Cd (2000)....
