How to Use Google Classroom for Online Teaching Best Practices
In this video Dr Tahir Yaqub explains how to use Google Classroom for online teaching and what are some of the best practices. This is a beginner's tutorial and after watching this video you should be able to use Google classroom and all of its features.
First we will see how to create a new class, how to change the theme or title image of your new class, how to enroll students in a Google classroom by displaying the class code.
There are four tabs in a Google classroom. Then we will see what features are available in these four tabs which are "stream", "classwork", "people" and "grades". Best practice for the stream tab is to use it for the announcements. The assignments must be placed in topics which are essentially the folders in Google classroom.
Rubrics are also very important and Dr Tahir Yaqub explains the step-by-step process of how to create rubrics in google classroom. These are instructions for students about the grading criteria.
