In addition to the state of the art explicit finite element analysis, LS-DYNA has considerable strengths in implicit analysis where success is mostly based on good convergence behavior. With a focus on structural
analysis, possible reasons for convergence difficulties and practical recommendations to improve convergence as well as accuracy are summarized and accompanied by selected examples and keyword options.
