A detailed look at all the parameters and audio examples from the critically acclaimed jazz and prog rock mixing and mastering engineer Mark Wingfield. Mark looks at the unique features of the AR-1 VINTAGE MU COMPRESSOR modelled after the Lisson Grove hardware compressor which is a recreation of a late 1950's Altec compressor used at Abby Road on Beatles and Pink Floyd records. Mark demonstrates examples of how it can be used on electric bass, acoustic bass and vocals.
Mark has mixed or mastered three Downbeat Magazine Masterpiece Albums of the Year, a JazzWise Best Release of the Year and two All About Jazz Best Albums of the Year. Jazz albums he has mixed or mastered have received more than 300 rave reviews world wide. Mark mixes and masters at his UK based Heron Island Studio.
