Kia is going fast and furious with their new electric Crossover.

This new all electric Kia will offer a top of the line GT performance trim with 577 HPs

If you don't know what that means... That's Lambo power, kids!

Kia currently has some fully electric vehicles that also are available with gas or hybrid powertrains.

This EV6 will be Kia's first dedicated Electric Vehicle.

Designed from the ground up as an EV, it will be based on the EGMP platform unveiled with the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

This might be the most important car in the whole Kia lineup.

It will be going up against some stiff competition from the likes of the

Tesla Model Y, Voltswagen ID4, Mustang Mach E, Ioniq 5, Nissan Aria, Audi Etron etcetera etcetera.

In perhaps the second hottest car market in North America.

Design:

While the Ioniq 5 had a retro futuristic vibe.

The EV6 is very much and evolution of KIA DESIGN LANGUAGE, that incorporates a lot of bold elements to make the EV6 stand out visually.

I mean, It's definitely got a mean look to it.

The headlights look squinty and rude. Like a predator ready to pounce on its prey.

The Fender bulges are muscular. It looks like it's not playing around.

It has a cool floating roof design. That sadly is not available with a glass roof.

PERHAPS THE most interesting part of the design is this character line that starts on the bottom of the doorsills.

And extends through the rear fender all the way through the back that becomes the LED light strip.

This light strip is definitely the signature feature of the design.

It's definitely interesting and looks super futuristic.

It integrates what you need in the rear of a car perfectly.

You have the brake lights, reverse lights, turn signals, and side reflectors all integrated into a single beautiful design.

The sporty, manly theme is continued in the interior.

It has a flat bottomed 2 spoke steering wheel.

There are 2 12.3 inch screens that dominate the driver-angled interior

The AC controls are going to be a touch screen

The GT spec seats seem to be just like the ones you get on supercars.

It will be sharing the super sweet augmented reality system in the IONIQ.

No photos of the rear seats and cargo areas have been released yet.

POWERTRAIN

The EV6 will be sharing the ultra fast charging system with the IONIQ5.

That can charge from 10-80% in 18 Minutes.

There will be 2 batteries available.

One with 77.4 KW and a smaller one with 58 KW.

No official ranges have been announced.

The standard range models come with either 168 HPs in RWD or 232 HPs AWD

Long Range Models come with 225 HPs RWD or 321 HPs AWD

The top of the range GT Model comes with a Lambo like 577 HPs

Giving it a claimed 3.5 seconds to 60 MPH.

Along with software that mimics the behavior of a Limited Slip Diff

Here is the EV6 GT in a drag race against some serious sports cars.

It was 1st all the way til the last moment when the 570 MCLaren wins by a nose.

Sadly, the Ioniq 5 will not be getting GT levels of power.

There are paddle shifters behind the steering wheel to shift between 6 different driving modes.

Kia does not state if the EV6 will be available with the vehicle to load system in the IONIQ 5 which lets your car become a mobile powerstation.
