Watch live: La Palma volcano eruption

The volcano has continued to spew lava, ash, and smoke into the air 24 days since it first began erupting.

Between 700 and 800 people were told to evacuate from Los Llanos de Aridane as lava advanced toward the municipality, bringing the total number of people displaced by the eruption to about 6,800, according to El Pais.
