In this tutorial, I show you how to fix Roblox not launching on PC & laptop. A common reason for Roblox not opening is that you have either RivaTuner or MSI Afterburner open on your computer. Fortunately, you can fix this by closing Rivatuner and MSI AfterBurner then reopen Roblox.

Often, both RivaTuner and MSI AfterBurner will be open in the background. You can close them by opening the hidden icons menu and right-clicking on the application. Once done you will need to select Close to close the application. If you don’t have MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner open then check to see if you have any other overclocking software open and close it.

Another method to fix the Roblox not opening issue is to uninstall and reinstall Roblox. You can uninstall Roblox by right-clicking on the Start menu and choosing Installed Apps on Windows 11. If you are getting the Roblox not launching error on Windows 10 then you may need to select Apps & Features. Once opened you will need to find Roblox, then open the options and choose to uninstall. You may need to select Uninstall again to confirm.

Once you have uninstalled Roblox you will want to delete the leftover Roblox files. This will ensure that if any files are corrupt or aren’t working properly, then they are deleted and replaced when you reinstall Roblox. After deleting the leftover files you can then reinstall Roblox using the installer file. If you don’t already have the installation file then you can get it from the Roblox website by attempting to play a game.

If Roblox won’t open then you can try restarting your PC or laptop. In some instances there may be background processes running that are preventing Roblox from opening, and the easiest way to close them is to restart your computer. Typically, this will only cause the Roblox not opening error if you have previously opened Roblox since starting your PC. However, other application processes can also prevent Roblox from opening. After your computer has restarted you can try opening Roblox to see if the issue is fixed.

If you still can’t open Roblox then it may be due to your anti-virus or internet security. In some instances your anti-virus software may be stopping Roblox from opening. If this is the case then you will need to add Roblox as an excluded or trusted application. Once done you should be able to open Roblox without your anti-virus software preventing it from opening.

Another way to fix Roblox not opening is to use the Xbox app version of Roblox. This is different to the desktop version of Roblox that you get from the Roblox website. You can get the Xbox version by opening the Xbox app on your PC, then search for Roblox. Once done you will need to select Roblox and choose to get then install the application. After installing Roblox you will see a Play button, which you can press to open the game.
