The S.S. United States in 1991: Slightly Remastered For 2021!

Given the fact that my original 2-part upload of this footage from 8 years ago has been viewed over 40,000 times, I thought a slight update was in order, especially given the awful quality of the original upload.

With what I know from iMovie, here is a "slightly remastered," all in one video, new update to the 1991 SS United States footage!

This was originally sourced from a VHS tape set gifted to me over 20 years ago by Mr. Bill DiBenedetto, who filmed the original footage aboard the United States.

Here we see the vessel towards the end of its Hadley ownership. Hadley's attempts at reactivating the ship went from the reasonable to the ridiculous, and had to sell more and more of her interiors to pay the bills.

Not too long after this, the ship was seized, sold again, towed to Turkey and the Ukraine, and what interiors you see here were ripped out for good.

So, enjoy this time-capsule, now 30 years later, of the ship way more intact, and alive, than she is now. With walls, rooms, an interior, and even many of her lights still operating!
