Here are some safety precautions when two excavators use their buckets to help another excavator exit from a deep pit:

Preparation Phase

- Conduct a comprehensive inspection of all excavators' performance, including bucket strength, hydraulic system stability, engine conditions, etc., to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Have professional personnel assess the geological conditions around the deep pit to check for risks such as landslides or collapses, and carry out reinforcement if necessary.
- Develop a detailed operation plan to clarify each excavator’s steps, movement ranges, and on-site commander’s signal instructions, ensuring all operators understand the workflow.

Operation Process

- The two auxiliary excavators should be parked on flat, solid ground and kept at a safe distance from the pit edge to prevent tipping due to ground collapse.
- The connection between the bucket and the trapped excavator must be secure. Use special connecting devices or chains and conduct multiple inspections to ensure no loosening or detachment during lifting.
- The lifting process must be slow and uniform, strictly following the commander’s instructions. Avoid sudden force or abrupt stops to prevent excessive impact from damaging the excavators or causing hazards.
- Set up obvious warning signs in the work area, prohibit unauthorized personnel from entering, and ensure on-site workers wear safety helmets and other personal protective equipment.

Follow-up Inspection

- After the operation, conduct a thorough inspection of all excavators to check for damage or abnormalities in components such as buckets, booms, and tracks, and promptly address potential safety hazards.
- Re-inspect the ground around the deep pit for new cracks or loose signs, and take timely measures to repair and reinforce if issues are found.
