The playwright and choreographer Nikolai Foregger founded in 1921 the Estudio MastFor (MASTerkaya FOReggera = Foregger Workshop) that emphasized a new system of dance and physical training (called TePhyTrenage), in which it conceived "the body of the dancer as a machine and the muscles of volition as the machinist". They performed dances that imitated a transmission chain or chain saw, accompanied – behind the scene- by a "Orchestra of Noises" that included broken glasses in boxes that were shaken, hitting different metal and wood objects, packing boxes, drums, gongs, whistles, cheap whistles and shouts by instrumentalists.
