Large face Abscess (inflamed cyst)drained near eye with one week follow up. Healed amazingly!

This patient had a small cyst on his right zygomatic process. One morning he woke up with a large swollen tender mass on his face and his right eye swollen shut. Likely the cyst had overgrown it’s thin sac and it burst. The swelling is the bodies reaction to the cyst contents spilling out into the surrounding tissues. In time it would regress, however performing an incision and drainage can be very helpful and greatly speed up recovery by removing purulent discharge and cyst contents.
