Rick Leary, the former CEO of the Toronto Transit Commission, has been named the new general manager of OC Transpo, taking over a transit system dealing with disrupted bus service, an aging fleet, repeated LRT breakdowns and a delayed O-Train East extension; Xzander Wright, the 19-year-old charged in the hit-and-run death of Barrhaven crossing guard Peter Clark, appeared in court twice on Friday and CTV News has learned he also faces impaired driving charges stemming from a separate incident in Brockville last July; and Woodroffe Avenue between Richmond Road and Deschenes Street will close fully beginning Monday, March 30, with the project not expected to wrap until fall, as Ottawa's construction season ramps up across multiple major routes.
