They can be expensive in the initial purchase side but in the long run are much cheaper than flooded lead acid. Lithium batteries have a higher energy density than lead acid and last alot longer as well. If you buy the prismatic cells yourself and the BMS you can put together a battery much cheaper than buying a commercial battery.
