The Debrief LIVE: Atalanta 0-5 Liverpool | Diogo Jota hits first hat-trick for Reds

Diogo Jota made it six goals in four games as his first hat-trick for the club fired Liverpool to a stunning 5-0 Champions League victory at Atalanta.

Jota’s strike-partners Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were also on target as the Premier League champions made it three wins from three in Group D.

It was Salah’s 22nd goal in Europe for Liverpool, moving him level alongside Michael Owen in second place in the club’s all-time list of European scorers. Steven Gerrard leads the way with 41.

Mane’s strike, meanwhile, means he is now on 17 goals in 35 Champions League appearances for the Reds.

But the night belonged to summer signing Jota, who since the start of last season, has scored three hat-tricks in the Champions League and Europa League combined.
