Call of Duty World at War | Map Tour of Sub Pens

World at War was released on November 8h, 2008 and the last major Call of Duty game to feature the Second World War for almost 9 years. It was also the last major Call of Duty until Modern Warfare 2019 to feature vehicles in a major fashion (aside from minor appearances in Black Ops 3 and WW2).

WAW is also the second major COD released since the start of the multiplayer era and the 5th mainline title ever released. WAW is apart of the Black Ops canon and Warzone canon respectively after the integration of the Black Ops timeline with Modern Warfare 2019's. This makes WAW the first of two WW2 titles to be featured in the Warzone canon and the only WW2 game in the Black Ops canon.

Sub Pens was released as apart of Map Pack 2 on June 11th, 2009. The DLC was/is free for PC and included as an update. Certain Affinity helped to develop two of the three multiplayer maps featured in this pack. These maps would be the only two DLC maps that the team would make for WAW.

Sub Pens shares its name with a map released as a part of COD Vanguard. They are otherwise different maps as the one depicted in WAW is Japanese and has a different layout compared to the German version in Vanguard.
