This 1993 video covers dramatic visual lessons and master instruction that complement Major John PLaster’s premier book on military and police sniping. Plaster takes you into the woods and onto the range to teach you the lessons and tricks he’s picked up in his years as a Special Forces SOG Recon Team Leader and later as a sniping instructor.

All areas of fieldcraft, marksmanship and tactics are covered, including a review of state-of-the-art weapons, optics and field gear. Practical shooting drills, wind and range elimination techniques of stalking, choosing hide, countersniping and more.

Also, in his first appearance on film, famed sniper Carlos Hathcock recounts some of the field-tested tactics he used to rack up 93 confirmed kills in Vietnam. Tellings of Hathcock’s 5-day engagement with an enemy company, his countersinking duels with enemy snipers, and his longest recorded sniper shot at the time (2,500 yards), plus his thoughts on maintaining focus, the importance of patience and his personal philosophy on the art of sniping.
