Creating Curb Appeal: The Welcome Garden

What happens when two avid gardeners meet and fall in love but neither has a garden? That was us for three years. But we bought our Hollywood Dream Home and are slowly making a beautiful forever home for ourselves. We have a bland and uninspired patch in the front yard and we thought it would be a weekend project... the gophers thought otherwise.
