East Jerusalem: Chaos hits streets amid clashes at Damascus Gate

The Israeli police used water cannons to disperse people near the Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem, Thursday, following reported clashes between Arabs and a right-wing Jewish group in the area.

People were seen running away from the police, with stun grenades being used against crowds. According to reports, dozens of Palestinians have been injured, with some seen arrested.

According to reports, unrest was sparked by the march of the Jewish right-wing group that coincided with Ramadan services held in the area.

Tensions have been ongoing throughout the week, with the Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem being at the epicentre of the discontent.
