Detroit Walking. Brush Park Neighborhood from Mack Ave to I-75

Starting at Mack Avenue, we'll zig-zag our way South through the Brush Park neighborhood and City Modern development to where it ends along the I-75 service drive. This neighborhood is home to some of the most architecturally stunning century-old mansions in the city. Many leaders of the industrial revolution had homes in this neighborhood, as the city expanded and thrived around them. Unfortunately, the city fell on hard times, and these mansions were abandoned and left to deteriorate. The handful that are left are now in varied phases of restoration, while the City Modern development fills in the gaps left by homes that couldn't be saved. Come along on this walk and experience the resurgence of one of Detroit's most unique neighborhoods. Enjoy!
