Bringing history to life: 1885 walking dress
I made this dress as part of #thestripeychallenge, created by one and only Karolina Żebrowska. I chose to recreate the fashion plate from 1885, because I love making bustle dresses, and by 1885 bustle was at its greatest extension. You can see the fashion plate and my result side by side here - https://www.instagram.com/p/B3DWa1Xg-H-/
I've made all the garments - combination, corset, bustle, petticoat, underskirt, overskirt, jacket, hat and parasol in just one month. I had to work nights to finish it in time, but it was worth it.
