One for the Little Boy

M-Ward Oral Histories Project 2011.

Vikrant and his friends, Deepa and Anjali, live in Wasi Naka, M-Ward, Mumbai. While Wasi Naka continues to deal with problems ranging from demolition to inadequate water and sanitation facilities, these three children have taken the initiative to teach children from nearby balwadis for around two hours a day. The children teach a variety of subjects and adjust syllabi accordingly to age and educational backgrounds, hoping to mark a small change in the education of kids in the neighbourhood.
