A song-prayer from the 5th century for Artsakh
Anna Mayilyan joins Artsakh Peace Festival to bring us the light of our ancestors - presenting a song-prayer by Mesrop Mashtots, written in the 5th century: "I fall before you".
Anna would be happy to sing some joyful songs for her audience in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), but she can't go there, as Artsakh is still under a total blockade.
So she prays and asks for peace and justice.
----
Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) got cut off from the world on 12 December 2022, and since then the inhuman blockade of this Armenian land goes on.
120 000 people are deprived of all the vital supplies - food, medications, fuel. Nothing can enter Artsakh, as Azerbaijan wants to force these people to leave their ancestors' land by making unbearable conditions for living. 30 000 kids are right now enduring a really cruel reality.
Musicians who are not willing to be in the audience of this horrible theater have decided to raise their voices, speak up and play for Artsakh.
The "Artsakh Peace Festival" is in full swing now. This virtual festival was launched on August 1. Within the framework of the festival, well-known classical musicians, singers performing worldwide raise their voices and perform for the people of Artsakh, addressing the international community in order to spread information about the blockade and its consequences.
They provide their performances to become part of an information campaign in order NOT to take part as silent watchers in a new genocide that is taking place right now.
The Festival team and our artists will be grateful for cooperation and media support, which is truly important during this tough period.
