Tender Chicken & Barberry Rice life in country side Zereshk Polow ba Morgh زرشک پلو با مرغ

Zereshk Polo means Barberry Rice and is usually served with juicy & tender chicken slow cooked in a red and rich gravy.
The combination of barberry rice with tender chicken with a hint of sourness (usually comes from lemon or sour orange) is a perfect taste; that’s why this is a famous and loved dish all over the world & is one of the Persian signature national dishes.

ingredients for 4
rice 4 cups
chicken 4 pcs
1 onion
tomato paste 2 tbsp
turmeric powder 1 tsp
black pepper powder 1 tsp
paprika 1 tsp
salt
lemon juice or sour orange juice 2 tbsp
dried barberry 1 cup
sugar 2 tbsp
almond bits 100g

زرشک پلو معمولا با مرغ نرم و آبدار که آرام آرام در سس قرمز و غلیظ طبخ شده سرو میشود. ترکیب زرشک پلو و این نوع مرغ که معمولا با لیمو و یا نارنج طعم دار میشود، بهترین ترکیب از نظر طعم و مزه میباشد. به همین علت نیز این غذا یکی از غذاهای معروف و مورد پسند در سراسر دنیا بوده و بعنوان یکی از غذاهای ملی ایران در نظر گرفته شده است

برنج ۴ پیمانه
مرغ ۴ تکه
پیاز ۱ عدد
رب گوجه فرنگی ۲ قاشق غذاخوری
پودر زردچوبه ۱ قاشق چایخوری
پودر فلفل سیاه ۱ قاشق چایخوری
پاپریکا ۱ قاشق چایخوری
نمک
آبلیمو و یا آب نارنج ۲ قاشق غذاخوری
زرشک ۱ پیمانه
شکر ۲ قاشق غذاخوری
خلال بادام ۱۰۰ گرم
