Swingarm Bearing Removal and Replacement | GSXR 1000 | Partzilla.com

Your GSXR 1000 swingarm bearing replacement starts with the parts: http://bit.ly/GSXR-swingarm-bearing-replacement

Learn how to replace the swingarm bearings in your Suzuki GSX-R 1000. This is a complex job and it requires several parts and some specialized tools to get this done. We’ll replace the bearings in our swingarm as well as the bearings in our rear cushion lever. Check out both diagrams to get a closer look at the parts:

The whole process starts by getting the back wheel off. While you’re at it, this may be a good time to replace the chain and sprockets on your GSXR, and here’s a video to show you how: https://youtu.be/r1e3X88XxMw

Next, we’ll get on with the GSXR swingarm removal. We’ll show you how to remove the swingarm on your motorcycle and then remove the rear cushion lever. To remove them, you’ll need a couple of special tools:

AND

Once we get the components off our GSX-R, we’ll get to work replacing the bearings. Removing the bearings generally requires another set of special tools from Suzuki which we’ll show you in the video. However, John will show you a couple of workarounds that will require a little more elbow grease but may get the job done. Once we remove the worn bearings, we’ll replace the bearings in the rear cushion lever first and then take care of the bearing replacement on the swingarm of our motorcycle. Finally, we’ll put everything back together again.
