Trad Climbing on High Exposure at The Gunks, NY

This pitch of climbing isn’t doesn’t just define the Gunks, it defines everything we seek out in a pitch of climbing. It may even transcend the bouldering/rope barrier, it’s just that good. There’s a reason this climb consistantly finds itself in the top 5 climbs on the front page of MountainProject (I’m unsure if I’ve ever seen it below the top 10).

Despite being one of the first videos I ever made (shot more then 7 years ago when I was a budding trad climber), I’ll let the video speak for itself. Someday, I hope to capture the sense of exposure and beauty of the climbing but until then, you’ll just have to go experience it for yourself.

Now-a-days, it receives a 5.6+ grade. Don’t let the + scare you away.
