LaWanda Page played Aunt Esther on the television series Sanford and Son. Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in St.Louis, Missouri. She began her business career dancing at the age of 15. She later worked in small nightclubs as 'The Bronze Goddess of Fire". In the act Page performed Fire Eating and lighting cigarettes with her finger tips.
She eventually moved to Los Angeles and had a successful career in television, stage and film.
