WATCH: Americans across the U.S. sing national anthem to kick off 2020 DNC

The beginning of the 2020 Democratic National Convention kicked off with a montage of the Star Spangled Banner, featuring children and adults singing from across the country. The coronavirus pandemic upended both parties’ traditional conventions. Instead of in-person events, the program each night features a number of speakers and musical performances virtually across the country.
