Train Simulator 2020 - Caledonian Railway 498 class (first drive)

It's time to have a look at yet another Caledonian engine.

As you can tell from the title of this video, today's starring engine is the 498 class, which is a chunky little 0-6-0 tank with outside cylinders.

Because the 498 class looks like a dock shunter, I decided to use the engine on a shunting turn in a small dockyard. The route we are on for this video is the Temsby Branch, which is a Steam Workshop route. You can tell it's a workshop route because of the lack of custom assets.

Our task today is to take 498 class No. 527 down to the quayside at Temsby Port and assemble a short consist of freight wagons for another engine. Said other engine is the 492 class 0-8-0T sitting by the coal tower.

The train we have to assemble includes a couple of FEESH vans, as well as some conflat wagons that need to be loaded. Once the train is assembled, we have to take it back up to the main yard and park it in a siding next to the goods shed.
