Looking for GREAT places to see the Big Boy on the Wasatch Grade
We are off looking for great places to see the Big Boy when it comes to Utah in May 2019 for the 150th anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike on May 10 1869.
The Big Boy will be back on the rails in May traveling to Ogden Utah for the 150th anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike, completing America's first transcontinental railroad.
Ed Dickens and the Union Pacific Steam Crew are in the reassembly phase of the incredibly complex rebuilding and restoration of Union Pacific 4014. While the restoration was going forward, Union Pacific's flagship steam locomotive FEF-3 Northern style locomotive 844 failed inspection and also needed a complete rebuild. Work on the Big Boy all but stopped to restore the 844, which has been back on the rails for over a year, looking GREAT!
