Field Operations Community of Practice & Arctic Watch Collaboration Efforts and Future Opportunities

The October Field Operations Community of Practice (FOCP) introduced Arctic Watch, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to employ technology, communications, and local expertise to enhance safe, secure, and environmentally responsible maritime operations in Alaska’s Arctic waters. FOCP and Arctic Watch have successful ongoing collaborations, including through their sharing of the IARPC Mooring Matrix asset locations on the Arctic Watch “Current Conditions” weather map. During this meeting, we will hear from Arctic Watch about their ongoing initiatives before presenting the collaboratively designed Arctic Cruise Daily Report template that is intended to help daily reports reach a wider audience, further reducing the possibility of conflict and promoting safe vessel activity. We will discuss the motivation and the iterative development of this template, and will then discuss opportunities for additional collaborations between FOCP, IARPC, and Arctic Watch.
